He(St. Francis of Assisi) wanted his brothers to study, provided that they live and do (that which scripture teaches) before they teach it. For what good is it to know about many things and to have no experience and taste of them.

Why did I post the quote? Simple, there has been some misunderstanding with folks who cannot equate why I am a Franciscan, and in seminary getting my M.A. if St. Francis did not believe in education, the truth is that he did, but it is the how and why you seek the education that needs to be answered.
I hope this helps to further understanding.
